StrategicPoint Promotes Purinton to Vice President, Chief Financial Planner

Move Better Positions Firm for Expanded Financial Planning Capabilities

Providence, Rhode Island, April 21, 2009 – StrategicPoint Investment Advisors (SPIA), one of New England’s leading investment advisory firms, announced today that Betsey Purinton has been promoted to Vice President, Chief Financial Planner.

Betsey has been with the firm since 2001 and provides investment and financial planning advice to clients. She oversees the Financial Planning Department, which creates written plans, sets the firm’s financial planning policy and produces the regular Wealth Management Newsletter. She also serves on the Management Committee, which sets corporate policy, and the Investment and Portfolio Committees, which determine the investment strategy for the firm.

Betsey serves as co-host on the Making Money Show on WPRV 790AM, a local radio program that provides daily commentary and analysis of critical economic and financial news. Betsey also contributes regularly to East Side Monthly magazine.

In addition to her work at StrategicPoint, Betsey is currently President of the Financial Planning Association of Rhode Island (www.fpari.org), a non-profit organization that fosters the value of financial planning and advances the financial planning profession.

Betsey holds a BA and MA in Economics from the University of Colorado, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She has a Certificate in Financial Planning from Bryant University and is a Certified Financial Planner™ certificant.

“I like to think of myself as a late career-changer and a role model to women who want to make a contribution but feel held back by a society that discourages major career moves after the age of 45,” said Purinton. “Especially in these challenging economic times, I hope that I am able to serve as an example of how women can reinvent themselves at any point in their lives and find a new career that they feel passionate about.”
